Teachers can rebuild connections and create an educational environment in which they support students and each other.

  • TAKE A HEALING-CENTERED APPROACH
  • MAKE TIME AT THE START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR TO (RE)BUILD CONNECTIONS Get to know your colleagues and students.

Some reflection

I have been attending some workshop recently. Since COVID, most workshops were online. I feel strongly about in the field of education, it is not what you want, but what you DO. English is not my native language, and some workshop participants are not, but they are strive to express their thoughts even their English is not pretty good. On the other hand, as a Taiwanese, I am more conservative. I tried, but honestly, if I were them, it would be very difficult for me to express my ideas or I even felt embarrassed.

As educators, we often teach kids to be open-minded, but in the reality, we are not as open as thought….

In the upcoming semester,

  • Wishes: get along with kids as much as I can during COVID
  • Challenges: Under the uncertainty of COVID, do we need to implement hybrid learning or blended learning? How to cut down the screen time during  current era?
  • Opportunities: COVID has changed our lives; it even strengthen our online teaching competency. I think I can advance my online teaching skills utilizing this special opportunoty.
